How to play Live Roulette with Crypto

Let’s start by looking at what components are in the game of roulette. The central features are:

  • The roulette wheel, which is divided into numbered sections from 00-36, depending on the roulette variation you’re playing.
  • The roulette table, which shows a grid with all the numbers on the wheel, plus some additional options. This is where the players place their bets.
  • The croupier, who hosts and conducts the game by spinning a ball on the wheel.

The goal of the game is to accurately predict on which of the numbered sections the ball will land. As such, a round of roulette looks something like this:

  1. Players place their bets, indicating which they think will be the winning spot
  2. The croupier spins the ball
  3. The ball lands, determining the winners
  4. The winners are announced and payouts are made

Typically, if the ball falls on a 0 or 00, any even money bet, meaning those that pay 1:1, e.g. Red/Black, Odd/Even, lose the game round.

Types of Bets in Crypto Roulette

There are two types of bets in Roulette, with different subtypes. Most of the subtypes we will look at in this article apply to most roulette games. Because of this, it’s important to know your way around them so that you can optimize your betting strategy.

Inside bets

Inside bets are located in the center of the roulette table’s layout. These bets are placed on individual numbers or specific combinations of numbers. As a result, inside bets have a higher risk and a lower chance of winning. However, this is made up for by the significantly larger payouts when they do win. Inside bets in roulette are the following:

  • Straight-up This bet involves wagering on a single number from 00-36 (depending on the game variety you are playing). It's a straightforward bet, but the odds of winning are very low. Players can place as many straight-up bets as they like in one round.
  • Split: Split bets get 2 adjacent numbers on the roulette table. To place this bet, chips are positioned on the line dividing the two numbers. The payout for split bets is slightly lower than a straight-up bet, because there are two numbers involved.
  • Street: Street bets are also known as row bets, and they cover 3 numbers in a row on the roulette table layout, e.g. 1, 2, 3 or 4, 5, 6. Tol place this bet, players place chips at the bottom of the row, below the first number in the sequence.
  • Corner: Also known as square bets, corner bets are about wagers on 4 adjacent numbers on the roulette table layout. To place this bet, players place a chip on the corner where those 4 numbers meet.
  • Six-line: As the name suggests, six-line bets cover 6 consecutive numbers in 2 adjacent rows, such as 1-6 or 7-12. These bets are placed by setting the chip on the line separating the outside and inside bets, between the two rows you want to cover. It is also known as a quint bet.

The payout and chip placement for Inside bets can be seen at the table below:

Type of bet Chip placement Payout
Straight Up Within the number's box 35:1
Split On the split that the two numbers share 17:1
Street At the ends of the line, on the outer edge of the numbers 11:1
Corner On the shared corner 8:1
Line At the outer corner where the two leftmost or two rightmost numbers meet 5:1

Outside bets

Outside bets are more the more general kind of bet that includes a category of things, not specific areas. Examples of bets in the outside category are:

  • Red or black: betting whether the ball will land on a red or a black section, regardless of the number in the tile.
  • Odd or even: here the color doesn’t matter whatsoever, the player only guesses whether the ball will land on an odd or an even number.
  • High or low: The player bets High if he thinks that the ball will land on numbers between 19-36, or on Low if he/she thinks that it will land on 1-18.
  • Dozens: The table is also divided into 3 dozens, the first one covering 1-12, the second one 13-24 and the third one 25-36. Another outside bet option is to bet on which dozen the ball is going to land in.
  • Column: The player bets on a full column of the roulette table. There are 3 columns on the table, and you can bet on one, two, or even all three of the columns in a single round. The numbers are divided in columns as follows:
    • 1st column: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34
    • 2nd column: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35
    • 3rd column: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36

Outside bets payouts

The likelihood of winning is different with each of these bets, and so is the payout. See the table below for information.

Type of bet Payout
Dozen 2:1
Column 2:1
Red / Black 1:1
Odd / Even 1:1
High / Low 1:1

Special bets

Although the betting options mentioned above are pretty diverse, you may at some point find yourself tiring of them or feeling bored. Fret not though, because then you can move on to call bets, also known as announced or advanced bets.

The most important called bets are listed here:

Voisins du Zéro

Meaning "Neighbors of Zero," this bet covers 17 numbers between 22 and 25 on the wheel: 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4, 21, 2, and 25. The bet requires nine chips, consisting of five split bets, a corner bet on 0/2/3, and a three-number bet on 25/26/28/29.

Tiers du Cylindre

Tiers du Cylindre covers one-third of the wheel, specifically the numbers between 33 and 27. In order, these numbers are: 27, 13, 36, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, and 33. This bet uses six split bets to cover all these numbers.

Les Orphelins

Les Orphelins covers eight numbers, including 17, 34, and 6 to the right of the 0 pocket, and 1, 20, 14, 31, and 9 to the left. This bet requires five chips: four for split bets and one for a straight-up bet on 1.

Jeu Zéro

Jeu Zéro bets cover the seven numbers closest to the 0 pocket: 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, and 15. You need four chips to place this bet, including splits on 0-3, 12-15, 32-35, and a straight-up bet on 26.

Finales en Plein

Finales en Plein involves betting on individual numbers that end in the same digit. For example, "Finale 0 en Plein" would be a bet on 0, 10, 20, and 30, while "Finale 1 en Plein" would be a bet on 1, 11, 21, and 31. These are all straight-up bets with a payout of 35:1 for a winning number.

Finales a Cheval

Finales a Cheval involves a series of split and straight bets on numbers that share the same final digit. For instance, a bet on 0 and 1 includes 0, 1, 10, 11, 20, 21, 30, and 31. The numbers chosen determine the specific split and straight bets required.

Crypto Roulette Variations

Given its worldwide popularity, it’s no wonder that a few roulette variations exist. Let’s take a look at the main ones and the differences between them.

European Roulette

European Roulette is also known as single-zero roulette. It features a wheel with 37 sections arranged in a random order. Of these sections, 18 are red, 18 are black, and the single 0 is the only green section. One of the more appealing aspects of European roulette is its favorable odds. With only one 0, the house edge in European roulette is a meager 2.70% - considerably lower than in American roulette.

Roulette Wheel

American Roulette

American Roulette is almost the same as European roulette. The same rules apply and the same bets are available, but there is one significant difference: the wheel in American Roulette features a double 0, in addition to the single 0. This significantly raises the house edge to 5.26%, making the American Roulette a favorite among providers - most casinos prefer to use this version as opposed to the less profitable European roulette.

French Roulette

French Roulette uses the same wheel as European Roulette, as well as many of the same rules and bets, but there are some crucial differences that make the French Roulette stand out.

First of all, there are some subtle differences in the layout of both the wheel and the playing table in this game’s variation. The numbers on the wheel of American roulette face outwards, whereas in European and French roulette they tend to face towards the center of the wheel. Regarding the playing table, in French roulette the outside bets are literally outside of the main area - i.e. they surround the number sections. The most important and clear distinction, though, is the fact that the play table uses the French words for the different sections:

  • Rouge/Noir = Red/Black bet
  • Pair/Impair = Odd/even bet
  • Manque/Passe = Low/high bet
  • Douzaine = Dozen bet, displayed as follows:
    • P12 - Premier for first dozen
    • M12 - Moyenne for second dozen
    • D12 - Derniere for third dozen

Secondly, in the French version of roulette, if the ball lands in a 0 or 00 slot, even-money bets do not lose. There are two potential rules that the house may follow in these cases, and they both reduce the house edge:

  • La Partage: the bet amount is split 50-50 between the player and the casino, allowing you to recover half of your loss. This reduces the house edge on even-money bets, dropping it to a mere 1.35%. Although mostly found in French roulette, you may sometimes encounter La Partage in European roulette games, and more rarely in American Roulette.
  • En Prison: the bet amount is held, or “imprisoned”, for the next round, giving you another chance at winning. If you win in the next round, you recover your bet amount without any additional winnings. However, if the next round results in a loss, a 0 or a 00, then the bet amount is lost. The house edge is only 1.35% in this case as well.

Live Roulette vs RNG Roulette

Choosing between live Roulette and RNG (Random Number Generator) roulette can shape your online gaming experience in different ways. Whether you crave the authentic feel of a live casino or the speedy convenience of digital play, understanding the key differences can help you pick the right game for you. Let's dive into what sets these two options apart.

RNG Roulette examples

Live roulette brings the casino vibe right to your screen. You get to watch a real dealer spin the wheel in real time, making it feel like you're actually there. You can chat with the dealer and other players, adding a social touch to the game. Plus, seeing the wheel and ball in action adds a level of trust and excitement that's hard to beat.

On the flip side, RNG roulette is all about speed and convenience. Everything is digital, with the outcome determined by a computer algorithm. This means you don't have to wait for a dealer or other players, which is perfect if you like a fast-paced game. Additionally, RNG roulette is available 24/7, so you can play anytime you want without any delays.

Choosing between live and RNG roulette comes down to what you enjoy more. If you love the Social aspect and authentic feel of a real casino, live roulette is for you. However, if you prefer a quicker game that you can play any time, RNG roulette is the way to go. Both versions have their perks so pick the one that fits your style. Betting Strategies for Crypto Roulette Sites

Discovering the best strategies for online roulette can transform your gaming experience, helping you make more informed decisions and potentially increase your winnings. From classic techniques like the Martingale and Fibonacci systems to strategies tailored for different types of roulette, understanding these approaches can empower you to play with greater confidence and strategy. Let's take a quick look at some of the most effective betting strategies that can enhance your online roulette gameplay.

1. The Martingale Strategy

The Martingale Strategy is one of the most popular and straightforward betting systems for roulette. The idea is simple: double your bet after every loss until you win. Once you win, you return to your original bet. This strategy works best with even-money bets like red/black or odd/even.

How It Works:

  • Start with a base bet (e.g., $5).
  • If you lose, double your bet (e.g., $10).
  • Continue doubling your bet after each loss (e.g., $20, $40, $80).
  • When you win, return to your base bet.

    Pros:

  • Can recover losses with one win.
  • Easy to understand and implement.

    Cons:

  • Requires a large bankroll to cover consecutive losses.
  • Risk of hitting table limits, which can prevent further doubling.

2. The Fibonacci Strategy

The Fibonacci Strategy is based on the famous Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc.). In roulette, you use this sequence to determine your betting amounts, primarily for even-money bets.

How It Works:

  • Start with the first number in the sequence (e.g., $1).
  • If you lose, move to the next number in the sequence.
  • If you win, move back two numbers in the sequence.
  • Repeat this process.

    Pros:

  • Lower risk compared to the Martingale system.
  • Allows for gradual increase in bet size.

    Cons:

  • Potential for long losing streaks.
  • Requires tracking of the sequence, which can be complex.

3. The D'Alembert Strategy

The D'Alembert Strategy is a more conservative approach compared to the Martingale. Instead of doubling your bet after a loss, you increase your bet by one unit. Similarly, after a win, you decrease your bet by one unit. This method is also suited for even-money bets.

How It Works:

  • Start with a base unit (e.g., $5).
  • Increase your bet by one unit after each loss (e.g., $6, $7, $8).
  • Decrease your bet by one unit after each win (e.g., $5, $4, $3).
  • Continue this pattern.

Pros:

  • Lower risk compared to Martingale.
  • Easier to manage bankroll.

Cons:

  • Slower recovery of losses.
  • Still possible to encounter long losing streaks.

The betting strategies we have just gone over are amongst the most popular betting strategies for seasoned gamblers and they can be applied to practically any game of chance.. Each of these strategies has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it's important to choose one that aligns with your risk tolerance and bankroll size.

Most importantly, never lose sight of the fact that Roulette is a game of chance and no betting strategy is able to ensure a victory. Always gamble responsibly; set limits for yourself and stick to them - whether they be financial or time-related.
