Mega Roulette is another example of Pragmatic Play’s ability to take old classics and transform them into something new, all while maintaining their core characteristics and vibes. This European roulette variant is enhanced by random multipliers that offer potential for massive wins!

Published on 24th February 2021, Mega Roulette was created in response to the popular Lightning Roulette by Evolution Gaming, so it shares many characteristics and is equally enjoyable.

Mega Roulette follows the format and rules of European Roulette with a single zero, so if you’re familiar with this roulette variant there are very few new things to learn. The added element lies in the multipliers, which are determined at random and applied to specific numbers. More on this below.

Mega Roulette looks quite different from the rest of Pragmatic Play’s live roulette games. In regular live roulette, the croupier is sitting down beside or behind the roulette table, and there is usually a static backdrop.

In Mega Roulette, the roulette is stands in the middle of the set, without a table, and the croupier is not seated. Instead, he/she will pace around commanding the space and announcing the game through a microphone, which is closer to what a gameshow host does.

Pragmatic Play has also created Auto Mega Roulette, which uses the same rules and mechanics. The only difference is that Auto Mega Roulette does not have a host - the ball is spun automatically by the roulette wheel.

As mentioned earlier, Mega Roulette follows the rules of single-zero format European roulette, with some modifications. A game round in Mega Roulette is expected to go something like this:

• Players place their bets.
• The ball is spun
• The multipliers are announced and applied
• The winners are announced and payouts are made.

The Multipliers in Play

Every round, one to five Mega Lucky Numbers are randomly selected and shown on the screen behind the host. Then, Mega Multipliers are applied to them, ranging from 50x to 500x, and the Mega Lucky Numbers are highlighted on the table at the bottom of your screen. If any of your bets cover the Mega Lucky Numbers, your winning bet becomes a Megawin, where the multiplier is applied to the amount, leading to major winnings!

Inside & Outside Bets

Mega Roulette offers all of the regular Inside and Outside bet types, with similar payouts on all except the Straight Up bets. The standard payout for Straight Up bets is 35:1, however in Mega Roulette a regular winning straight up bet, that does not include any Mega Lucky Numbers, only pays 29:1 to account for balance with the multipliers.

Other Bets

Mega Roulette also allows for the usual call bets, namely wheel segment bets (e.g. Orphelines and Tiers du Cylindre) and neighbor bets (5-chip bet on a number and its adjacents). Additionally, the classic special bets of Finales en Plein, Finales a Cheval and Full Complete are also available.

To view the Special Bets, click the star icon on the right hand side of your screen. This will expand the Special Bets window where you can flip through the Special and Mega Bets.

Mega Bets

On top of the classic special bets, which are described in our roulette guide, Mega Roulette also offers Mega Bets. Mega Bets have been designed specifically for Mega Roulette, allowing you to place bets faster. Basically, they allow you to place multiple straight up bets with the click of a button. It can be pricey, but it can definitely increase your chances of hitting a Megawin, since those only apply to Straight up bets.

There are four Mega Bet types for you to play around with:

• Mega Chances: a Straight up bet is placed on 18 different numbers (Red/Black, Even/Odd, High/Low)
• Mega Dozens: a Straight up bet is placed on each of the 12 numbers in the selected dozen.
• Mega Columns: a Straight up bet is placed on each of the 12 numbers in the selected column.
• Bet on All: a Straight up bet is placed on each of the 37 numbers available.

Mega Roulette is all about the Straight up bets - that’s where the big wins lie. So, Pragmatic’s inclusion of fast ways to make multiple Straight up bets with the click of a single button plays upon the game’s strengths and is convenient for the players.

Mega Bets are an easy way to increase your chances of hitting the multiplier. The Bet on All function ensures that you will get a payout, but it would be a mere 29:1 if you don't get a multiplier, so you’d still be at a loss.

Hitting a big multiplier would be ideal, but the chances are not in your favor - not only does the number have to be chosen as a Mega Lucky Number, the ball also needs to land on it. Your best bet would be to get as much coverage on the table as possible, but this strategy can be pricey. Remember to keep within your betting budget and game responsibly.
