Gates of Olympus is an evolved reskin of Pragmatic Play's super hit Sweet Bonanza. But here with a less sugary theme and significantly lower max win (not a bad thing, since the mathematics are better balanced).

Anyone who has played Sweet Bonanza will quickly recognize the game mechanics. A minimum of eight identical symbols are required to create a win, regardless of where they appear on the reels (Scatter Pays as it is called in slots-lingo). The main difference - which also makes it feel more refined - is that multipliers are not exclusive to the free spins round, here they are also incorporated nicely in the base game.

Mathematically, it differs quite a bit. Gates of Olympus has higher volatility but a much lower max win (5,000x versus 21,100x in Sweet Bonanza). This sets the stage for a very well-balanced slot that is extremely entertaining. Don't let the lower potential max win here discourage you, it is actually a plus for the overall gaming experience!

The Gates of Olympus slot uses a reel setup that measures 6 symbols wide and 5 high (6x5). Since we are playing with the Scatter Pays mechanics, there are no set paylines or limitations. Eight or more identical symbols means a win. No matter where on the reels they land.

Symbols involved in a win are removed and new ones drop down from above. RTP and Math model

The game's volatility is a 5 out of 5 on Pragmatic's scale, so expect plenty of spins between wins. The max win of 5000x is conservative for a slot released 2021 and indirectly means that the high volatility is not as extreme as the number implies. An equally volatile slot with say a 20,000x maxwin would be less forgiving.

The RTP on Gates of Olympus is 96.50% and is not affected when buying the feature or playing with an Ante bet (to increase the chances of hitting the bonus round).

Multiplier symbols can appear on all reels. They can go all the way up to 500x (though very rare). The symbol shows a multiplier value and it is applied at the end of the round, when we don't find any more wins.

The multiplier does not need to connect to any symbols or land anywhere specific to trigger, but obviously requires a win in the same round as it is pointless to multiply anything by zero.

If two or more multipliers appear on the same spin, these will be added together before being multiplied by the total win.

Multipliers appear both in the base game and during free spins, but they appear much more frequently during the bonus round, and there they also persist and will be applied to subsequent rounds.

There are two ways to make it easier to activate the Gates of Olympus bonus round. You can buy your way in for 100x the base bet or flip a switch that doubles the chance of spinning enough bonus symbols (4). The bonus bet increases the bet size by 25%, known as the Ante bet.

How the Total Multiplier Works

During free spins we have a variant of what in slot language is called a Persistent Multiplier. This means that all multipliers we accumulate are saved as a total multiplier. Indicated in the top left corner.

There is (unfortunately) some logic to how the total multiplier relates to wins. Not all wins will be multiplied. And not all multipliers will be added to the total multiplier. We need a win. Let us demonstrate:

• Only multipliers involved in a win will be added to the total multiplier. The total multiplier is then applied to the win.
• A regular win without any multiplier symbols present will not be multiplied by the total multiplier.
